About New York with Circle Line Cruises Sightseeing Attractions Midtown

<<

>>

This is about New York Circle Line Cruise and sightseeing attractions

As a tourist you will want to see all the world famous sights in the ‘Big Apple’.

There is one thing for sure this city isn’t short of sights.

The Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building are two iconic landmarks.

It is good for short breaks but there are loads to see and do however long you stay.

Which part of the city you choose to stay isn’t really too important, this is the same for every large city because wherever you are based you will have to travel around.

Fortunately, as in most cities, this city has many ways to get around. The two main ways of getting around are the subway or taxis, unfortunately, both these have downsides. Some visitors find the subway intimidating and taxis are subject to hold ups either because of heavy traffic or diversions. The best thing is to see one area at a time and once there walk as much as possible. Apart from every other consideration, walking really is the best way to really see a place, especially a city.

If you don’t mind splashing out there are helicopter rides, which circle over the city and are very dramatic. But of course you don’t see anything of New York, just a general overview of the city.

One way to discover the city is to think about New York circle line cruises where you can even cruise around Manhattan Island seeing the world famous skyline, various boroughs and renowned landmarks.

There is no point listing the very famous sights such the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building, most people could list 10 or more ‘must see’ sights.

Perhaps one good way to plan your visit would be to pick a season, an event or a particular purpose of your visit.

For example; you could choose to go near to Christmas and see the city decked out for the festive season and do some skating at the world famous Rockefeller Centre or even in Central Park. You could also fit in a little Christmas shopping for gifts at the same time.

Another thing about New York is you could plan your visit to coincide with a sports event; the tennis masters for example in August or many of the sporting events held in Madison Square gardens and around the city.

The Baseball season starts in April if you wanted to see the famous Yankees. Then in October there is the basketball and the ‘Nicks’ (did you know that is short for knickerbockers?) Finally there is the NHL, which begins in October with the New York teams being the New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders and New York Rangers.

If sport isn’t your thing there is Chinese New Year in February with many parades and special events so a few days’ break in New York at this time of year would brighten up anyone’s winter.

The following month, March there are the famous St Patrick’s Day parades when even the Guinness is green and New York midtown is Irish!

Later on in the year, July 4th is a fabulous time to visit N.Y, with celebrations and parades to beat them all. You may go to attend a concert featuring your favourite singer or group and there is the ever-popular purpose for visiting New York -yes you’ve guessed it … shopping!

We mustn’t forget to mention that there are some exceptional places to eat in New York. Not just fabulous food but wonderful locations, something very special for a romantic break.

So it needn’t be a case of just visiting New York sightseeing attractions and doing the same old things, a theme to your visit would make it some thing even more special.

One thing every one knows about New York is it's so good they named it twice.
