India travel deal and holiday tours are many and varied in this vast land of contrast.

It is the seventh-largest country on the planet by geographical area.

The second-most populous country in the world.

It became independent from Britain in 1947.

It is the biggest democracy in the world.

Now a republic consisting of 28 states and 7 territories.

It has developed into one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

India is cut off from the rest of Asia by the world's highest mountain chain the Himalayas. Which is the youngest and still growing mountain chain on the planet.

The distinctive triangular peninsula of this subcontinent has a coastline of 7,517 kilometres (4,700 mi) and is over 2000 miles (3200 km) from north to south.

The Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the west, and the Bay of Bengal on the east surround it.

The so called Golden Triangle is the most popular part of the country for tourists. The three points of the triangle are Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. And each offer a wonderful wealth of cultural and historical interest.

You could spend weeks in the national capital Delhi which is a fascinating mix of the old and the new. The ancient and the modern nestle side by side in this sprawling city. The name Delhi, Dehali, or Dilli is derived from Dhillika. Which was the name of the first medieval township of Delhi, located on the south-western border of the present Delhi, in Mehrauli.

Agra was once the heart of the Moghul empire in the 16th and 17th centuries. It offers the unparalleled beauty of the Taj Mahal, on the banks of the Yamuna river.

Jaipur, the pink city, is the first planned city of the subcontinent and home to some of Asia's best bazaars.

Other main cities in the land are Mumbai formerly called Bombay and the capital of Maharashtra. This is one of the fastest moving, most affluent and industrialised city in the country.

Having a natural harbour, it is one of the busiest ports in the land, handling approximately 40 percent of India's maritime trade. The city came to people’s attention in the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.

Another is Kolkata formerly known as Calcutta is the subcontinents largest metropolis being home to more than 10 million people. A major industrial area it has many festivals and other cultural events. It is also famous for sports. It still has the British Victorian imprint on its streets and buildings.

The holy city of Varanasi is another attraction being the city of " LORD SHIVA" it is full of temples ashrams & muths. It is also a centre for studying astrology, sanskrit, yoga and ayurveda.

The marvellous temples of Tamil Nadu are not to be missed. The state abounds in ancient monuments and temples.

Cities of couse are not the only attractions some of the worlds best beaches are found here especially around Goa and Kerala.

Then there is the lush rainforests and fantastic national parks.

And the various cultures and terrain on the banks of the sacred River Ganges.

It is said that Columbus accidentally discovered America when he was looking for a short route to India’s Malabar Coast to collect black pepper.

You can travel purposefully here to take in the diversity of food, religion and culture.
