' Romantic Breaks and Honeymoon Travel Vacations Weekends Short ...Your Choice'

<<>>

If you’re thinking romantic breaks or even honeymoon travel the choice is daunting but fun and only limited by how much you want to spend.

Europe usually makes you think of Paris, London, Rome or Florence.

Of course it does,

but there are many places throughout the world where you could take romantic weekend breaks or longer vacations for say a honeymoon.

The thing with love is that we all have our own idea about what exactly ‘romantic breaks’ or 'honeymoon travel' means.

Let’s have a look at a few possibilities.

We have already named the obvious ones, but why do we consider these places to be ‘romantic’?

I think it is probably because of their history and amenities.

They are beautiful cities to wander around, to stop for a glass of wine and watch the world go by. This is a lovely thing to do when you are feeling romantic. Not to have a plan but just let the hours slip by.

These cities all have good places to eat too, not all of them expensive but it is easy to find good food in a restaurant that also has the right atmosphere. Not to mention that generally, lovers and honeymooners are treated indulgently in these cities.

Wherever you look around the world there are places to go where the atmosphere is romantic.Ideal for honeymoon travel.

In the U.S.A there is San Francisco, New York & Boston and not only cities but also quiet areas of natural beauty.

The Adirondacks are noted for their hideaways, New England in the fall with its small inns, Hawaii with the gorgeous beaches, the many National Parks are also wonderful places to visit for a romantic weekend.

In Europe there are many more places than ones already mentioned.

How about the Italian lakes, the beautiful Swiss lakes & mountains, the Lake District in England, the lovely old cities of Edinburgh, Prague, York, Bruges, Salzburg, so the list goes on.

How about staying for a few nights in an ice hotel, that could be really romantic.

There are always cruises too. There are longish ones around the Med or to the Bahamas if the person paying really wants to splash out, but for romantic short breaks there are the Nile cruises and 2 to 3 day cruises around Europe.

There are river cruises, which would be ideal for honeymooners, in most countries from Europe to Russia to China, take your pick.

Islands are always considered romantic. The thought of being away from everything that is familiar (unless you happen to live on a small island)is a pull.

Usually the smaller the island the more romantic it is considered to be especially for honeymoons.

I must say that personally I love romantic breaks uk or worldwide but I am not attracted to islands.

I am probably in the minority.

I know there are many beautiful remote islands around South East Asia, which are also quite accessible. You can dive, swim, or just while away the hours by a pool or on the beach and in the evening there are many of these places where you can have dinner served to just the two of you surrounded by candles under the stars.

Islands don’t have to be small or remote to be romantic but somehow I think it would help.

It is not possible to name all the romantic and honeymoon destinations let alone all those around the world; the above are the most obvious ones.

However it is always good to remember that in the most unlikely places there is always the lovely hotel or restaurant which would be considered romantic.

On a recent trip to Nepal we stayed for one night at the Dwarika hotel. In the middle of dirty, noisy Kathmandu it was an oasis.

It was built and decorated with salvaged materials from old buildings. Doors, furniture, beams and a whole lot of the accessories were antique.

The gardens were beautiful and the whole atmosphere was calming and restful, therefore ideal for romantic breaks or honeymoon travel at any time of year.

This is just one example because there are places like this all over the world.

The most important ingredient in romantic breaks, from honeymoon to special wedding anniversary, is the person you are with, that is really all the romance you need.
