'Rome Short Breaks The Rome Travel Guide For Weekend and Cheap Breaks'

<<>>

Rome short breaks are delightful because Rome is one the most beautiful cities in the world.

And every year it attracts millions of tourists from around the world.

No other city comes close for treasures and masterpieces of art and architecture.

The street art is amazing.

It seems that around every corner there is something to see.

This Italy Rome travel guide will make it easier for you to enjoy all the glory of the Eternal City.

And a good pocket city guide with a clear map is invaluable to maximise your Rome breaks.

So you don't miss anything.

Choose from some great Rome travel guides here.

Enjoy one visit and you’ll be hooked for life.

This is a city, like most cities in Italy, that is best appreciated slowly. Just like a glass of good dark red wine.

Here the joy is just strolling through the streets and alleyways or catching the sun outside a café while downing shots of espresso. As you watch … mature ladies with dyed hair and tiny dogs window shop. Policemen sporting big black sunglasses. Nuns and priests dodging the buzzing multicoloured vespas scooters.

Because Italy and Rome in particular is such a huge tourist draw, it makes sense to choose the date for your Rome short breaks carefully. In the summer, the heat and the crowds of tourists make the city almost unbearable.

The best times of the year to visit are April or May and late September through October. When the days are still warm with lovely blue skies and mild temperatures. The nights are slightly cool, and the swarms of day visitors have mostly disappeared.

You should allow plenty of time to see the city properly by planning what you want to see and do before you arrive. Even if it’s one of many Rome weekend breaks you plan to take. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day and it can't be seen in one, either.

So gather ideas from your pocket guidebook and search the net. You will soon have a wonderful itinerary.

Check out some of the deals below for great value for money and Rome cheap breaks … … just scroll to the bottom of the page.

If time beats you on one of your Rome short breaks and you're unable to see everything you want to, just toss a coin, over your shoulder, into the Trevi fountain. Because legend has it that this will guarantee you another visit in the future.

Rome's Fiumicino airport is 19 miles outside of the city and a train station is located inside so you can travel straight to Station Termini near the center of the city.

Taxis and transfers are abundant but will cost you more.

If you stay near the centre you can simply walk out your door and into the heart of the city. Wonderful for an after dinner stroll.

Going hungry is not an option in Rome; the city has an abundance of good places to eat.

For instance, the Piazza della Rotonda contains several cafés and restaurants, which face the Pantheon. Also the Piazza Navona is completely circled by restaurants that offer views of its fountains. Most have outdoor seating and heating, if required, and offer pasta, pizza, veal, and chicken and seafood dishes.

Like most of Italy the food is simple, fresh and delicious and the house wines are perfectly acceptable.

Your Rome short breaks vacation will go too quickly.
