South America Countries To See Things in Latin Place people and Culture

Visit South Americas countries to see Latin places that are wonderful.

To tour this land is more than the sightseeing.

It is to share the famed Latin spirit of a people who are warm and vibrant to all visitors.

From the Colombian highlands to the tip of Patagonia this continent offers some outstanding traveling experiences.

You could swim in the mighty Amazon, mountain bike on the Peruvian slopes or hike the Andean trails.

You could learn to dance the Brazilian samba or an Argentinian tango in the places where they originated.

This is a continent of tremendous contrasts and many cultures.

You could explore the Amazonian rainforest and dense jungles or marvel at the spectacular vistas of the Andes.

You could enjoy the hospitality of sophisticated and cosmopolitan cities or small local villages where people just live off the land.

Here is a wildlife paradise in such places as the Pantanal, a region of savannah lowlands, marsh wetlands and lush rainforest and the world-renowned Galapagos Islands.

If you prefer an active vacation there are many activities on offer.

Each country has its own unique attractions and culture.

Argentina, the home of the tango, and the Capital city Buenos Aires said to be the ‘Paris of South America’.

In the north east of the country you will find the most spectacular waterfall in the world, the Iguassu Falls.

To the south is Patagonia a stunning Lake District region.

There is also Ushuaia, the most southerly town in the world, and the famous Tierra del Fuego.

This huge country requires that you fly most places so Buenos Aires makes a good center as all flights pass through here.

Bolivia sits on the rooftop of the world and boasts the world's highest capital city, La Paz , the highest international airport, and the highest lake, Lake Titicaca.

Brazil and beaches go together with vibrant cities and world famous carnivals.

It is also the place to see the Amazon rainforest that is accessible from Manaus.

From here you have the choice of numerous jungle lodges further upstream in to the forest.

Chile's natural attractions range from the Atacama Desert in the North to the freezing landscapes of Torres del Paine National Park in the South.

This is one of the continents best outdoor activities destinations and ideal for hikers.

One of the world’s the most isolated places Easter Island, famous for it's giant stone heads, in the Pacific Ocean was annexed by Chile in 1888 and you can take a five hour flight from the capital Santiago.

Colombia is the only South American country with coastlines on both the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea.

It offers not only world-renowned coffee but great natural scenery such as snow capped peaks.

Bogotá, the capital and largest city, is located in a remote mountain basin at 2,500 meters (8,200 feet).

The Equator bisects Ecuador and gives it its name.

Here you will find the famed Galapagos Islands and its distinctive wildlife.

The capital city Quito has some fine colonial architecture a short drive away you will be able to see the Cotopaxi volcano situated in the Cotopaxi National Park.

Further south, you can visit the fascinating Avenue of the Volcanoes, with numerous interesting valley villages flanked by dozens of volcanoes.

Guyana is a former British colony on the north coast and 80 percent of the country is covered with tropical rain forest.

Deep in the forest is the Kaieteur Falls, which is five times the height of Niagara Falls.

Paraguay is a landlocked country and the Paraguay River divides the country into various regions.

Peru, the ‘Land of the Incas’, is the continents most frequently visited country and is home to the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu.

Cuzco is the old Inca capital and a fascinating tourist town and center of the legendary Inca Trail.

Another of Peru's highlights is Lake Titicaca.

Suriname is a small, but ethnically diverse, country with most of the population being descendants of African slaves and Indian or Indonesian servants brought over by the Dutch to work in agriculture.

Uruguay is known for its low, rolling grasslands and cattle ranches.

The country has one of the highest urbanization and literacy rates in South America as well as the lowest poverty and population growth rates.

Venezuela names after Venice in Italy is where you will find the highest waterfall in the world - Angel Falls.

Canaima National Park in the the Guiana Highlands is the gateway to the falls and you can also find ‘tepuys’, flat table top mountains, that inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's book the Lost World.

This fascinating continent with its rich and varied culture will not disappoint.
