Extremadura with its Roman past can sometimes be overlook by the tourist. Merida in the region was one of the most important cities in the whole Roman Empire. Today the main cities are Badajoz, Caceres, Guadalupe, Merida, Plasencia and Trujillo.
Galicia is known as the ‘land of the 1000 rivers’ and has the infamous coast of death. Celtic in origin the Romans left their mark here too.
