Zakopane holiday ski resort is fast becoming popular on the world travel scene.

And Zakopane travel tours can be arranged through a number of sources.

By the 1930's Zakopane had evolved into one of the most popular year round holiday destinations in Poland. There are many trails, tracks, climbs and runs in the foothills and valleys as well as up amongst peaks. The skiing season usually lasts here from December till the early May.

You can fly into Kracow Airport and take a one to two hours bus or car journey into the mountains. The Kracow Zakopane journey is getting easier all the time with improved roads and talk of an airport.

The Zakopane holiday region is renowned for its unspoiled natural beauty, majestic landscapes, mountains, lakes, elegant wooden villas and churches.

In springtime, the alpine meadows are awash with carpets of flowers making this an idyllic place for walking, climbing, mountain biking or paragliding. You may sight an eagle, chamois, or marmot.

With over 250 km of trails it’s ideal for summer hiking and mountain biking. It is becoming more and more popular for hikers and mountain bikers. There are also many easy, moderate and demanding peaks for the rock climbers.

Take a raft trip along 15 km of frothing water in the spectacular Dunajec river gorge.

Go up the mountain in the funicular, enjoy the views and the stalls, and come down on the chair lift.

How about climbing Mt. Rysy (2499,6 m), which is the highest mountain in Poland and marks the border between Slovakia and Poland. There is a footpath leading to the top giving you fabulous views. The Slovak side is relatively easy to climb but the Polish side is much steeper.

Or you can just rent a bicycle and explore the town with its unique architecture, history, museums, art galleries and other attractions. Many bars and restaurants serve great food and dink including the famous pickled mushrooms and lumps of ewe's cheese.

Visit he splendid picturesque medieval castle of Niedzica, which is perched above a lake is East of Zakopane at Czorsztyn.

Visit Lake Morskie Oko is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Poland.

Zakopane holiday mountain resort with 30,000 permanent residents continues to attract a growing number of visitors. Each year 1,500,000 visitors swell it streets and hills to soak up the scenery and the relaxed holiday atmosphere. They also buy the calf leather (“kierpce”), woollen sweaters, wooden kitchen utensils, sheep fleeces and the “oscypek” salty cheese.
